My GOBI MANCURI :)
God..!! When I type out this name, I feel like I am in Heaven and jumping with excitement screaming out my Gobi manchuri my Gobi manchuri!!!. Before writing about my love for Gobi Manchurian – I was wondering Will I feel better if I write while eating it or pour out my sad feelings of not having it when I write.. Guess wat my decision was J ?!?!.. So here I go from when I was small I have been in love with this Gobi Manchurian, not sure if I have missed or loved any human this much..!! I have seen it in multiple colors like brown, red, white, yellow. For me it’s like seeing my dream guy in different colored clothing – I know I sound silly but yeah love is blind and some ppl in love r sillyJ. I always get highly excited n no matter how sad or depressed I am – When I see Gobi Manchuri n know I am going to lay my hands on it—I am like Yahoooo., My eyes start sparkling, I get this broad smile on ma face, I feel like I am flying in the air—
Anywayzzz..!!! This is for the whole world to kno!!!! I love Gobi Manchuri and I believe noone can take its place in ma life J.. Every minute I think of gobi manchuri ! For some it might look like I am exagerratingggg--- but ppl who know me really well know how much I am in love with my Gobi Manchuri.!!
I am not sure if I Eva loved a guy, I would be bored of seeing him daily or not, or sometimes might have few crazy comments n fights..! But Gobi Manchuri – I see it daily, every time it feels like I am meeting ma long lost love and of course it tastes different n more yum every time – My Gobi Manchuri looks best in Red J . I had neva seen Gobi Manchuri in white till recently. I had been to this restaurant Chinese Mirch in New York—As usual my first order is Gobi Manchuri—It was white in color—I thought he has jus dipped it in rice flour or something n fried.. But when I ate it.. Oh my God!!! Sooo Yummy it was... Different style ;)
All that I can dream of every minute is Crispy cauliflowers dipped in spicy red sauce and very lil amount of fresh green coriander leaves chopped n sprinkled on it..!!! When I was in india I could afford to eat it alternate days..! My special brother Anjan used to get it from citi food while in college and my special friend Shankar used to get it from FOODSPOT in HCL! .. And yeah I cant forget the days we used to go to get hall ticket my friends Gaya , satz,me, Anjan – we used to go this restaurant on the way to college—they served the yummiest paneer butter masala and Gobi Manchurian.. Here in US, if I have to eat Gobi Manchuri –it’s like $10 + for like 4 pieces.. This is like one of the sad things I miss, but I learnt to make it myself J JJ, I am lazy for everything else but not to make n eat Gobi manchuri by myself for myself ;) Last but not the least My mom..!!! I really feel bad for her (Only sometimes) when she has to clean all the mess I do when I make Gobi manchuri or when I drag her asking her to buy me gobi manchuri all of a sudden when she hardly expects that kinda kiddish behavior from me!

' Confessions of a food lover '
yooo!!!! Here i go.. I am all excited that i finally created my own blog... I am not a good writer like ma best friend kutz who writes a lot of exciting stuff... !! but yeah i could say if ur a food lover n jus live to eat... then U will find wat i write interesting!!! I am sure my friends remember me for my passion n love for foood(esp DG who suggested the title for my blog ).. I am a great cook ( Well thatz wat i call myself !!).. I love outside food or in other words anything anykinda food except for wat my mom cooks( I prefer her to cook when i wan to go on diet !!).!!! I am sure she will make me fast for couple of monthz if she reads ma blog!.. I have started my own blog to share my experience about the eat outs i visit and the lovely food i eat and the experiments i do with cooking at the US.. I love chennai and that's the place i did my schooling, college and also work..!! I really miss my friends there who i used to go along or take along with to diff restaurants to eat diff type of foods.. :) be it road side masala puri or a 5 start hotel gobi manchuri.. I have been everywhere exploring my love for food ..During my school days me n friends we used to be happy eating Samosas, veggie rolls, puffs, ice creams..!! Comin to Ice creams, the usual place around our area the famous CREAMY- INN —Choclate nutty crunch was my favorite ice cream. The yummy scoop of vanilla ice cream dipped in the small container of choclate sauce and then rolled on another container full of nuts, It was so yummy! Back in school days we used to get a pocket money of only 50 bucks per week ( Now I realize how less it was and should have asked for more!!), I used to generously spend it going to thirunelvali halwa shop to buy samosas,, hot chips to get the freshly made crisp potato chips,Creamy inn ice creams , and not to forget the yummy veggie rolls at priya bakery..!!! Sad but true now a days there is no thirunalvelli halwa store , hot chips guy shifted along with us to mogappair from anna nagar..!!! I really miss ma friends vidya n kutu who I used to walk with daily from school to home exploring all these places..!!! Wait a min I forgot someone.. Lavanya..!!! She was this sweet girl I met in 11 th when I shifted school – my crime partner we used to get banged by teachers.. Bunking classes together hiding in the weirdest places damn the school was really small compared to my cbse school n the amount the places we had to hide when we wanted to bunk classes but the Veggie biryani the matric school used to serve on Friday afternoons was so yummy..!! Poor Lavanya she couldn’t eat a big plate of biryani had to share with her L though I could hog off the whole plate , but it was ok since she hardly used to eat one spoon n be like oh my god!! I am full J and the quantity they gave was soo much that after we finished they was still a lot biryani left.. I must r say Matric school was really generous.
I was really sad that after 12 th I was separated from two of my best friends Vansa and kutz! One of them left to Mumbai and the other to banglore… woowww distance dint separate us , always in touch n keep on talking talking!!! God the crazy stuffs we share sometimes!! Really miss u guys n time we had L . I got into a college at Sri Perumbudur – My God the first day itself was a big turn off.. the cafeteria served terrible food, there were no good restaurants and guess wat!! I knew nobody on my first day of class – I am an introvert and hardly speak much for first few times I meet strangers... some ppl tend to think I am quiet J which I am definitely not when u get to know moi. I met Karthik in my first semester.. one of ma great friend and sweetest guy.. I used to talk to him daily n crib abt the new atmosphere… but yeah I appreciate his patience he used to listen to all n give big bigs gyaans and wooo I used to bug him food food food( He owns a restaurant which makes yummy chilly parotha!) I used to love fighting with him and threatening him I wouldn’t talk to him if he dint get me crackle.. I loved Cadbury’s Crackle then and of course i still do !! I managed to make a few friends nice ppl I hardly settled in my class with good friends then again they split us department wise..!! Oh no.. I was like uuufff wata torture this college is..!!! grr.. But when I went into my second semester class… I was like hey I have seen some of these girls somewhere all look familiar—Yeah Arti, Neetu, Divya, deepthi,HP. All smiles, made a couple of friends in the bus..!!! Then slowly I made friends with Madhu, charanya, harshu,DD ,SD ,KD,Gaya3,Satz, Anjan, Ajay,Kitcha, Most of them were veggies. Guess wat I was excited abt .. LUNCH BREAK..!!! Soo many ppl so many lunch boxes so many varieties of food lol..!!! J Lunch breaks with class mates ( U would really love my friens's moms more then them b coz of the yummy food they prepare n send lol ) evening outing after getting down at stop ( This was really gr8 daily Pizza hut, gangotri, AAB,Hot Breads,Shansi) with bus friends!!! And every morning my sweetest brother Anjan’s Gobi manchuri parceled J Life was all fun. Internal exams were fun.. b coz we used to get this food parcelled from this Nair Kadai next to our college Yummy yummy Egg masala that's wat ppl around me used to say :) sometimes the food was good sometimes it was terrible but my class guys actually most of the college ppl loved the food there. Loveliest part of my life Morning, afternoon, evening outside food = NO MOM’S COOKING !!!!Durin ma college life like many,I did like this guy who was damn sweet, whom I culd share anything with , used to cry cry cry laugh laugh laugh with him, again I used to love fighting for the bonuses I used to get J n yeah always being consoled by yummy yummy choclate cakes, subways, gobi manchuri, fries, burgers, pizza, cornettos J loved those times. Awesome company to go out with b coz anything u order he would eat one spoon n be like I o..!! Stomach full how can u eat so much before he could complete the sentence I would have finished the food J. In the whole class for the first time I met somebody who could kinda match my passion n love 4 food ,yeah she was not as crazy as I was but yeah a veggie food lover like me “ Charanya “, we used to love Frankies, burgers ,Pastas, salad from olympia Palamudhir choley wait a min Everything!!!! J We have bunked college, jumped into college buses which went to fill petrol, caught by security, night stays ( Comin to the night stay can't forget the days we cooked in my house , HP's faneer farnkie, my fried rice and yeah so many dishes we made !!! ) and our restaurant outings!! We do plan that all them join but somehow It ends up with only 6 or 7 of us.. J
I did have a company always for my food adventure.. I moved to HCL.. first we had this training where I met super sweet friends like manisha, fouzia, chandini we used to hang out together during lunch n GOD our evening bus adventures back home from guindy to our houses most of de time used to be terrible.. These ppl were a great company, was in love with their sense of humor!! but there were not as foodie as I was !! So had to settle with Aporva snacks daily J … Then was put on project in Ambatur HCL.. I O..!!! Horrible canteen L 35 bucks for those horrible meals n I rather survive with a bowl of watermelon then eat that.. There I made friends with Rini, Suji, Prema, Shankar,Cent. My super cool friends whom I used to somehow bug n trouble them while working n convince them abt going out for lunches, evening breaks, temple. Rini, prema most of the time busy..!! So most of the time it was me suji, Shankar,Cent. We were into total exploring… Road side Masala Puri was mine n Suji’s favorite… Though the masala puri we get in Chennai was not as great as the one’s we get in banglore nmysore .. it was still yummy n tasty in diff way.. Daily masala puri.. Monday evenings curd vada in the opposite HCL office .. Rain forest’s corn on toast, Gangotri’s Pani puri, food spot’s chilli parotha/Gobi manchuri, or hot chips sweet nendrum chips, Aavin;s pal kova,Mc Can;s burger.AAB's Jamuns, Satya food's idiyapam kurma, olympia's salads, temple prasadams,Dhaba's mushroom masala. We were always Everywhere..!! I am basically from Bangalore / Mysore . I better say both. I Have stayed in Chennai all my life n love the place . This is just a small part of the fun I have had in my life. My parents r strict but somehow managed to have my share of fun and thrills in life. Now I have moved to US, I miss all my chennai, banglore, mysore eat outs n Eating food outside here once is as expensive as eating in a five star hotel for 5 days..!! I miss all my friends yeah still in touch with them thru fones n gtalks but still it’s not like seeing them n laughin with them n having sweet nothings!!! I am yet to make friends here but yeah once I stop missin Chennai I should be fine to interact with ppl all over world..!!! :)
I am going to start my cooking Adventure Sooon to avoid spending lot of money on restaurants outside .,.!!! I am sure those will interest you… As I am a super foodie I LIVE N LOVE TO EAT J
